St. Paul, MN - June 10, 2008 -- St Paul, MN - Mark Marquisi, the Minnesotan man who
began an experimental off-beat website last November, has since doubled his site\'s
exposure in Google, MSN and Yahoo!. Enter \"Doctor Note\" into Google and find his
controversial product - a bundle of \"Novelty\" Doctor Notes - near the top of the
rankings. His colorful site, known as BestFakeDoctorNotes.com, has recently
established itself as the number one site to find the most realistic fake doctors
notes and other medical excuses. Since November, his has obtained 2,000 incoming
links and now receives over 1,200 visits a day.Like any website, Marquisi\'s business
began with a minimal amount of traffic, but over the last few months he has made
several efforts to gain his websites high rankings.\"SEO, or Search Engine
Optimization, is probably the largest part,\" he states.
Marquisi attributes his sites rankings and surge in traffic to outsourced Web 2.0
submissions, article marketing, Google Adwords and viral marketing.
His sales-page spokesperson, a fictional shyster titled \"Dr. E.Z. Streat\", has also
played a role in building his brand. \"I wanted to create this sort of shady-yet-fun
character who pitched my doctors excuses. After some trial and error, Dr. E.Z.
Streat was my result. Customers seem to love him for some strange reason,\" Marquisi
states.
Marquisi\'s product improvement has also played a role. After noticing that a few
other websites seem \"deeply inspired\" by his, he\'s learned that only way to dominate
the market is to create a broader bundle of notes of much higher quality.
\"Most of my competitor\'s sites now have doctors notes that try to mimic mine. So I
have to use my graphic design skills to constantly create something new, something
better. I recently added a Podiatrist Note, an Oral Surgeons note, and a
Dermatologist Note. To be quite honest, I am running out of ideas,\" he states.
His website\'s progression hasn\'t been a walk down easy street. Since its recent
increase in exposure, it has also gone through some controversy. Last month Marquisi
received an email from a Baptist preacher, claiming this product was enabling people
to do wrong.
Marquisi has a different angle.
\"I created this as an experiment, and it works. People search for these and they buy
them. I am not breaking the law or causing harm. And people who use these for
illegal means are misusing my product. They\'re meant for fun - for a joke,\" he
stated.
